The following post from our tummy tuck forum is from a woman who had a tummy tuck and had high fever and chills last night. She is wondering if they will come back tonight.

I had a tummy tuck on sept 13 and had drains removed yesterday. Last night I had a high fever and chills. I took tylenol and drank lots of water and felt fine the next day. The isn't any oozing from drain sites and incision is healing well but the fever and chills have returned tonight?

Shannon,

I have no idea whether the fever and chills will return tonight. Hopefully it was just a one night thing.

I have never heard of the removal of drain tubes being associated with the fever and chills you described.

If you had an infection, presumably your doctor would have noticed it when he removed the tubes yesterday. You also say that there is no oozing and your incision is healing well (in other words no other signs of infection?).

Why would you think the fever and chills would come back tonight?

If they do come back the best thing would be to check back with your doctor.
