Aloha Tanner,
Great job and great info, I am a 49 year old male
who has lost 245 lbs., as you know lot of extra
skin, I live on Maui so surgeon shopping is a bit
tough, I have had two consultation's, first one was
going to do a full tummy tuck with muscle tighten,
with vertical and horizontal incision, plus skin
reduction on chest, man boobs, cost 27K.
Second would be a lower body lift tummy tuck just a
horizontal incision, and he would do a bilaterial
mastectomy. same price might be a little less.
How long was your surgery? Both say 9 hours. One I
would go home, the other would be on another island
so hotel for three days with a nurse. I am thinking
of one more consultation, I tend to over analyze.
any advise would be great, I am a bit nervous about
this.
Thanks John

John,
Losing 245 lbs is quite an achievement. I
congratulate you. I know how much effort that took.
I couldn't tell you exactly how long my surgery took
but I think it was about 5- 6 hours.
Over analyzing is a good thing as long as you don't
"over worry". Getting a third consultation sounds
like a good idea especially since the two surgeons
that you have already gone to are recommending
different surgeries. The more information you have,
the better.
I know what you mean by being a bit nervous.
Something new and unknown with risks involved is
kinda scary. One of the best things to do that will
help is to do a good job in selecting your surgeon
and making sure he has all of the right credentials
and experience. Having confidence in your surgeon,
getting physically fit, getting as healthy as you
can before the operation, taking vitamins and
supplements, following all your doctor's orders and
having a positive attitude will help you the most
(in my opinion).
If you haven't already done so you might want to
read about a guy who had a Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck
(full tummy tuck with muscle tighten with vertical
and horizontal incisions.

I will say this though. After the operation is
over you will feel better both physically and
mentally. You will be happy to be rid of the excess
skin. People will see the change in your attitude.
For me, the surgery was well worth the effort and
money (although it looks like you will be paying a
lot more than I did).
Let me know if you have any specific questions that
I can answer.
Good luck.
Tanner
Follow-up
Tanner,
Thanks for the quick reply, and the words of
encouragement, if I come up with anymore questions,
I will be sure to ask.
