Thinking About Getting a No Cut Tummy Tuck |

Thinking of getting a "no cut tummy tuck" from
Monarch med spa. Do you know anything about this
procedure? Are results similar to a regular tummy
tuck? Response - Liz, I never heard of "no cut tummy
tucks" before so I took a quick look at their
website. I was looking for an explanation of what
exactly they do for their "tummy tuck" but was
unable to find a good answer. I did manage to find
more information on other sites including the

From reading that, the no cut tummy tuck would not
have done me any good. If I were you I would
continue to do more research until all your

Does the pulling of the skin (in reference to any
unnecessary stress) cause additional soreness during
the recovery period? is there anything that has to
be done to the nerve since they are being cut? Is
there increased chance of nerve sensitivity after
compression garments and main healing is set? (I'm
not a DR like that's not obvious)..

Had tummy tuck 6 days ago came out that nite saw
lump on the left side had a collection of blood left
side of my tummy the blood in the draining tube was
clotting had to go bac to surgery to clear blood
collection lost 1 1/2 pints of blood had to have a
blood transfusion came home on the Wednesday pain
was nt bad I have now noticed a little dent below my
belly button what could it be I have a little
Throbbing pain in that area I'm getting worried now
I went through 2 op s don't want anything else to go
wrong going to c my ps tis wk but does any1 know

Had a full abdominalplasty last year after extreme
weight loss. The results have been pretty decent but
now thinking of the having my back done. Looking for
advice on recovery and if you thought realistically
if it would need as much downtime. I was down for
about three weeks but most of that was due to the
muscle repair and drains. Did you have separate
drains for your back? I have heard bending over will
be tough for a period of time?..

I had tummy tuck and reconstructive work on breasts
following (2 yrs ago) lumpectomy 17 days ago. Very
happy with results except I have two bumps at top of
stomach area just below breasts, much more
pronounced on right side. Saw surgeon 3 days ago,
said due to moving everything around, tuck had to
end somewhere and he didn't need to drain, should go
down. One side bulges quite a lot and is harder,
about 2" across and 1 " high. I don't understand
explanation and seeing him again tomorrow. Have you
heard of anything like this, what questions should I

Going for my fleur de lis tummy tuck on the 29th of
March and I am SCARED TO DEATH. Your stories of the
complications have me even more scared. yikes....
I've been approved by BCBS since 2005 and am finally

I am scheduled to have a tummy tuck in late April. I
am very very very nervous about this. Oh lord, I
hope and pray all go well with a very successful
surgery and hopefully not too painful recovery, but
a positive outcome. I actually got my breast
enhanced about 5 years ago, so I do know the
possible risks there are. I am still scared as sh--.
Especially thinking about Donda West, Kanye West's
mother bless her soul, after getting a tummy tuck
and breast reduction. I searched the web to find out
more about risks and deaths resulting from tummy
tucks. I seen some stories that were so sad and
touching. Of course, I want it done but anything
could happen. I don't want to die, this really is
scary. I still have so much stuff I must do. I am
starting to get discourage, but will pray on it. I
did get a little motivation after reading your

I have had my tummy tuck done back in Jan 2011 and
till this day also experience the same exact pains
that you are describing (almost identical). I have
had numerous MRI's, cat scans and many other tests
and procedures done to me and my surgeon cannot
figure out what's wrong either. Nice to know I'm not
alone...sad for us though. Hope you find

I had a TT, lipo, hernia removed and muscle
tightened in march 5 2012. I'm 46 years old 4
children and I had the BEST surgeon in DC area Parva
plastic surgery. My scar is dry, my drainage removed
and very little pain. Choosing a good surgeon and
having a healthy lifestyle are mayor factors. Please
be very selective and DO research about your surgeon
...make sure he/she are certified. Don't try to go
by how cheap they are. This is a very serious
surgery and your life is in their hands. I choose TT
because I wanted to feel better about myself, after
4 children and 4 miscarriages, exercise wouldn't

went straight to my physician and she said did a
swab of the puss from the belly and it was infected.

Two and a half weeks later i had my first uti. I was
treated with cipro for 10 days. Five days later my
belly button began draining serous fluid. The belly

Stomach Bloated Year After Tummy Tuck |

flat until about 1 1/2 weeks ago. All the
sudden(like i read the others mention) my stomach
bloated (physically, looks like 5 months pregnant)

I had a tummy tuck done on Jan. 6th. I starting
having a lot of swelling on Jan. 19th. A drain was
inserted but clogged soon thereafter. I have now had
a total of three drains inserted since my surgery.
Tonight I am miserable because the drain has stopped
working again and my doctor is not on call. The
first 2 drains were not painful but this last one
was horrible. The radiologist must have done
something wrong because I was almost sick with pain
and there was a huge amount of blood. Always before
there was only yellow fluid. I wish I had never had
this surgery..

since then I have had several infections! At the
beginning of January this year my tummy became
extremely swollen I looked 8 months pregnant, I also
had a fever, I was taken back into hospital where
they found I had a severe infection and a severe
collection of seroma that had formed into a capsule!
They operated to remove it all and I had surgical
drains put again, I had the drains removed after a
week then 3 days later my tummy started swell again,
my surgeon tried to remove the fluid with a syringe
in 5 different places but was unsuccessful, I was
then taken back into hospital..

I am almost 1 year status post a bilateral
mastectomy for breast cancer. I am getting ready for
my final reconstruction surgery and I have decided
to also have a tummy tuck. I was never really scared
about my mastectomy. I guess it was something I knew
I had to do. I am really nervous about a tummy tuck.
I heal really well. My scars from my surgeries look
good and as a general rule I do not swell a lot. I
keep reading about all of the swelling and how long

Hello, first thank you for this site! There is so
much great information. I have a questions about
drain complications. I am 5 days post op for a tummy
tuck
and the doctor attempted to remove the jp drain in his
office today. But it got stuck. Under local, he
opened that side of my incision up to try to remove
the drain and was still unable to do it. I am now
scheduled for a quick surgery tomorrow to remove it.
Have you ever heard of such thing? I Asked him I f
he additional, though, minor procedure will now make
me create more fluid, therefore need a drain or risk
a seroma later and he didn't think so. Thank you for
your time.

HAD GASTRIC BYPASS about 2 1/2 years ago. Have a bit
extra skin and fat to be removed. It has given me
hernias and neuropathy. Is this procedure covered by
my insurance? Also the weight gain was due to being
laid up post workers comp injuries. Now having

Waking up in the middle of the night. Hi all. I am
16 days PO from my tummy tuck and have a question.
For the past week or so I have been waking up in the
middle of the night (4am) or so with an
uncomfortable sensation. My mid-section feels hot.
Like really hot. I take off my compression binder
but see no redness. After walking around for a while
the hot sensation goes away & I can usually get back
to sleep. My question is this normal? Any tips
people could give me on avoiding this would be
greatly appreciated. Kind of messing up my whole sleep

below my belly button there was pussy stuff under
the tape and i removed it and put gauze there and it
has seemed to develop a hole and there is draining
its not blood is fluid of some sort went to my doc

I have suffered from lower abdominal pain for years.
I have gone thru several colonoscopies and
endoscopies, but no results were shown to cause my
pain. I finally decided to discuss my chronic pain
with my internist and when I told him of my stomach

back, but not until I hit menopause at age 50. I've
gained weight in the upper stomach area, around my
heart and lungs. The fat had to go there because the
lower fat cells had been removed. If I had known
then, what I know now, I would never have had it

and full mr...one of the holes from where my drain
was removed POURS out brown/ black blood each time I
get up and try to do anything. I feel great other
than this, no signs of fever, redness, or swelling.
Everything I read on the net, never mentions
anything like this. When I say POUR I mean when I
get up to use the restroom or anything I have to put
and tight compress on tape in down tightly then was
my feet, legs, and go back and mop my trail to the

syndrome. I think because I did not look like I had
expected to. My surgeon did not perform liposuction as I
expected he would. He only removed the baby bump
above my pelvic area and pulled down the upper fat.

fine and my tummy tuck is still very troublesome. I
went to a board certified plastic surgeon. It looks
really good.. but still very painful, not the lower

mornings it is not too bad but by late afternoon it

I have been in such a state for the last week and
was so relieved when I came across the page with
your question on it. I am 4 months post op tummy
tuck and was feeling great (even though my hips and
thighs seem huge now) until last week. suddenly, I m
able to relax my stomach muscles and my stomach that

I have swelling above the incision line of my tummy
tuck that is concerning me. It was flat at first and
has gotten more protruding as times passes. My full
tummy tuck was 36 days ago. I am wearing compression, have
started massaging...it is very flat below incision
and bumps out over the incision directly above. It

skin/weight of 3 pregnancies combined with scoliosis
gives me daily back pain. I have been in PT for 3
years to help ease it. I have a saddle bag from the

I had a tummy tuck with a "so called" doctor in
Miami. He did a scar three inches wide and fourteen
long. I barely had a belly, now I got one, I was not
able to walk for four months, the seem (incision
line) was wide open the very second day of my
operation. He did not care, he had to do surgery on
me twice, when he did the first operation he was in
a hurry and I barely had pain, I walked out of the
operation room walking straight with no pain and
now, six months after the operation and four months
in bed, could not go to my job, could not even sit
and when I walk a little, my legs are numb. That
doctor should be arrested as he told me he did it on
purpose..

25th 2011.,and also got pseudomonas from it. On
Bactrim and oxygen tank for 14 days. now. it felt
like i got a cramp/charlie horse in my stomach. and,
now my stomach, on one side is ROCK hard, and swells
at times. it feels like someone is squeezing the

days ago. I am recovering nicely, except this drain
in my abdomen. I am still draining about 75cc a day
and it looks like mostly blood. From research
online, I would think it should not look like pure
blood at this point and should be slowing down. Is

I am 70 years old and in August 2011 I treated myself
to a tummy tuck that I have been wanting for years.
I have had four children and finally felt I was
ready. I had one of the top surgeon perform the
surgery and felt that I knew all the risks---nothing
was going to happen to me. Post-op I was fine for
three months all healing well, and then one day I
woke up with a severe attack of pancreatitis. After
multiple tests I had to have my gallbladder removed
due to a stone lodged in the duct. One week later
the incision from my tummy tuck became reddened in
several areas and one area broke open and drained a
thick coffee cream colored fluid..

I had a tummy tuck on 7/30/10. This was not a
surgery to make me beautiful this was to remove a
portion of my abdomen where a re-occurring staph
infection was. The plastic surgeon recommended
cutting it out and I said do it. Now after all that
I have lumps in my abdomen that look and feel as
though the inside sutures never dissolved and I
think they are infected. The more I do the more I
hurt! What do I need to do now?? I'm assuming these
need to come out. Will this require another
surgery??? Who if anyone is at fault??? Are suture
companies ever held responsible?? Any help would be
appreciated! Thanks

am planning for belt lipectomy. I have a few
questions, 1. How long does it take to get back to
work? As i have to plan for the holidays. 2. Are
there any serious risks involved?

I had a tummy tuck with liposuction on the hips and sides
and full muscle repair on October 14, 2011. It is 8
weeks later and I am STILL in pain and STILL don't
really know what is going on with my body. I had a
drain in each of my hips for about 3 weeks after my
surgery. They were miserable!! Once I got them out,
I swelled to the size of the good year blimp...what
I thought was going to be a nice flat stomach looked
worse than it had after having 3 babies and lap
band! I started to develop a fever in the evenings
that I thought was odd. It started out low grade,
nothing over 99.9. I told my doctor about it and he
said it was fine, just do some deep breathing and
take some Tylenol. Well, a little over a week later,
the fever was up to 103.8 and my husband took me to
the emergency room.. I don't know what to do
at this point...I am lost. I feel like an id**t when
I try to ask questions about it and I feel like I am
going to just have to learn to live with all this.
That is, if it doesn't kill me!
