Ankylosing spondylitis is a disease that causes inflamation of the spinal bone joints. It also causes some of the vertebrae of the spine to fuse together. Ankylosing spondylitis makes the spine less flexible. It is a long term disease that can also result in a hunched-forward posture. There is no cure for ankylosing spondylitis.
