2 Weeks After

The following pictures were taken 2 week after my surgery. Pictures show surgical wound areas on all side of the body. Some of my swelling went down because my weight went back down to where it was before the surgery. The Back View picture has been "smudged" a little but it shows the uneven incision line in the back. Surgeon said he had to make it that way for better body contouring to my uneven body. Two weeks post surgery - Finally made it back to my weight the day of surgery. Maybe this means some of my fluid retention from the swelling has gone down. At my second follow-up meeting approximately 15 stitches were removed and my seroma was drained.

Two weeks after my surgery my stitches were removed.

Two weeks after my thigh lift.

Two weeks after much of my swelling was gone.

Two weeks after the doctor drained my seroma.

2 Months After

The following pictures were taken 2 months after my abdominoplasty with Lateral Thigh Lift. These pictures show the healing was progressing nicely.

3 Months After

The following pictures were taken 3 months after surgery.  These images of plastic surgery tell me that maybe I should have lost another 5-10 lbs before having surgery.

1 Year After

The following pictures were taken 1 year after surgery.

Tummy Tuck Belly Button "After" Pictures

The following pictures of my belly button (also called the navel, umbilicus, colloquially or tummy button) shown at various stages of healing.  As shown in the following photographs, scarring disappears with time. I don't have any before pictures of my belly button for comparison purposes. It looks a little too narrow for me when I am standing but looks good when I a seated. More about Belly Buttons.

Ask A Question/Tell Your Experience

Why View Tummy Tuck Before And After Pictures?

Viewing Tummy Tuck Before And After Pictures is the best way to understanding what a tummy tuck is and what it can do for you. You get to "see" the dramatic final results in but the time, money spent, pain, discomfort and inconvenience over many months is not apparent to the viewer, but these pictures can be misleading. Often they only show the "good" results that a surgeon is proud of and ones that they post on their websites to promote their practice. You never can actually find any "bad" pictures that show what happens when things go wrong.

  1. They can show you what surgery can do and what can be achieved.

  2. They can give you an idea where your scar will be located, if you chose to undergo surgery.

  3. They can give you a better understanding of the seriousness of the surgery and that it is a major undertaking with risks involved.

  4. They let you do a "self comparison" and allows you evaluate if a tummy tuck would be applicable to you.

  5. They (especially a progressive set of pictures of the same individual) can tell a story and show you what it takes to go through the recovery process.

  6. They will allow you to compare yourself with the person in the image and consider if a tummy tuck is right for you.

  7. They will let you see what a typical belly button will be like.

  8. They will let you see what a typical scar will be like.

  9. When viewing pictures on the internet keep in mind that many times the "after" images will not tell you the length of time that has passed.

  10. Often these pictures will not define the specify type of tummy tuck operation the individual in the image had.

  11. They will not define the age of the individual.

  12. Often they will not tell you the name of the doctor.

  13. Often they will not tell you the cost of the operation. It would be nice to see what they paid for it.

  14. Often they will not tell you if the patient had any complications during surgery or how long the surgery lasted.

  15. Often they will not tell you the facility and location where the surgery was performed.

  16. Often they will not tell you if a supplemental surgery like liposuction was performed.

  17. Pictures that you see on the internet often show only the good results. Surgeons don't like to display bad results or what happens when things go wrong.

  18. Viewing these pictures won't tell you what the patient experienced to achieve their final result.
