Gastric Bypass Surgery

A surgical operation that reduces the size of the stomach and allows food to bypass part of the small intestine. You lose weight because you feel full more quickly because your stomach is smaller and less calories are absorbed by bypassing part of the intestine. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is the most common gastric bypass surgery.
