THE ABDOMEN

In humans, the abdomen (or belly) is the part of the body between the chest and pelvis. The region enclosed by the abdomen is termed the abdominal cavity. Abdominal walls are the boundaries (front, sides and back) of the abdominal cavity.

What is the difference between the abdomen and the stomach? The stomach is a body part (an organ of digestion). The abdomen is an area containing all of the parts between the chest and pelvic region.
