Tummy Tuck Blood Testing

Testing the Blood Before Surgery. In order for me to proceed with my Tummy Tuck operation I had to get some medical tests performed to show that I was in good health and a "Medical Clearance for Surgery" form signed by my family doctor. One of the tests that I needed was a Blood Test.

Why Test Blood?

Blood Testing is commonly performed prior to undergoing surgery. It can indicate a number of things about your health including testing for infection, minerals, blood sugar levels and determining blood type. If a problem is indicated, the doctor can take the appropriate corrective action prior to surgery. For my test, I was sent to a local medical lab to have my blood tested. The test is easy and painless. They simply place a rubber band around your arm, have you make a fist, then they draw a small amount of blood from your arm with a syringe. Place a bandage on the injection point and your done.
