Does the pulling of the skin (in reference to any
unnecessary stress) cause additional soreness during
the recovery period?
Is there anything that has to be done to the nerve
since they are being cut?
Is there increased chance of nerve sensitivity after
compression garments and main healing is set?
(I'm not a DR like that's not obvious). |

Ray,
Sorry, I'm not a doctor either, just a former
patient and I can't answer your questions about the
nerves.
My own personal experience tells me that nerve
sensitivity in the midsection is not increased, but
slightly decreased for a long time after surgery
before becoming "normal".
Pulling of the skin is something to be avoided
during recovery. I used extreme care not to pull
mine so I can't tell you about increased soreness.
I would think that excessive stressing of the
underlying muscles and tissue in the surgical area
could cause increased soreness because it would be
causing further damage and slowing the healing
progress.
Best regards,
Tanner
