Mommy Makeover Incision Hole Leaking Fluid

The following post from our forum is from a woman who had a mommy makeover 3 weeks ago and now has a hole near her incision line that is leaking fluid. She is wondering if this is normal and if it will it heal on its own.

Vicky,

You did not say anything about the size of the hole.

Anyway, the hole could be a good thing and provide a location for that drainage to leave your body.

If the doctor looked at the hole and said everything looked normal and he did not address it any further, I would think that it would heal by itself.

I would just keep changing the gauze (like you are probably doing) and keep a close watch on it and make sure it doesn't get infected.

If you think it is not healing properly you should call your surgeon or his nurse. You might want to call them and ask if it's OK to put Neosporin or some other antibiotic on it to help it heal.

Good luck,

Tanner

The thoughts of surgery scares me, I'm one of those people who gets very ill from anesthesia.
