Depressed 2 Months After Tummy Tuck

The following post from our forum is from a woman who had a tummy tuck 2 months ago and is now depressed. She is still 4 inches bigger around her waist and can't fit into her jeans.

I had a tummy tuck 2 months ago and was very depressed after. I compared it to baby blues syndrome. I think because I did not look like I had expected to. My surgeon did not perform lipo as I expected he would. He only removed the baby bump above my pelvic area and pulled down the upper fat. I cannot fit in my jeans yet and am actually 4 inches bigger around my waist. I went from a size 10 to a 12. Talk about depressing! my upper stomach area is flatter than before but I expected the fat would have been removed. I haven't completely healed yet, but I am having lipo as soon as I do. I just want the flat stomach I expected. I have a bulge on my left side right above the incision area that has taken the longest to heal. I also feel hard lumps along it as well. WILL THIS EVER GO AWAY?

Sunny,

A number of people have written into the tummy tuck forum with swelling as long and longer than you.

Unfortunately none has written in to report when the swelling had gone away.

Presumably it will just take more time.

Bummer that you are 4 inches bigger two months after a tummy tuck. Not what one would expect.

The hardness along the incision line (at least in my case) takes a while to go away. I don’t remember how long.

Sorry I don’t have answers for you.

Good luck,

Tanner
