Infection 5 Months After Tummy Tuck Surgery

The following post from our forum is from a woman who had a tummy tuck 5 months ago and now has an infection. She is wondering how that could have happened.

I have a tummy tuck infection 5 months after surgery. How could this have happened? I am on antibiotics now. Is there a chance these will work? I waited a month before going to the doctor because I did not know it could get infected that far out from surgery.

Gwen,

Getting an infection 5 months after surgery does seem kind of strange. You would think by the, everything has settled down and all the tummy tuck stuff was over with.

How could it have happened? I don't know. I assume you doctor didn't either or he would have told you.

Why wouldn’t the antibiotics work? I would assume that your doctor thinks they will or he wouldn't have prescribed them for you.

Sorry I don't have any answers for you.

Good luck,

Tanner
