The following post from our forum is from a woman who is asking if one week off from work is enough to have a tummy tuck.

I just started a job a week ago and don't want to lose it and my surgery is a week from now...do you think a week off is enough?

It really depends on how well you are recovering and what type of work you do. For office work typically you can return to work in one to two weeks. For more strenuous manual labor work up to 6 weeks or longer. I had a Tummy Tuck with a Lateral Thigh Lift operation and I felt that one week was about right for me (office work).

In 2009 the average Back To Work time appears to be 1-3 weeks.
Ref:ASAPS Tummy Tuck statistics 2009
Back To Work: 1-3 Weeks

If you can have it done on Friday and take the following week off that will give you 10 days. That sounds "do-able" if all goes well and you heal fast. I don't know about the "a lot of bending down" part. Maybe if you truss yourself up really good and bend with your knees (really slowly). Your doctor will be the only one to tell you for sure.
