Musa,
That's the biggest thing about having any type of surgery. The fear of not
knowing if it will be all right. Nobody can tell you that. All you can do is
find the best doctor and facility that you possibly can, get healthy and into
shape, follow all the doctors orders and hope for a good outcome.
The odds are in you favor that it will turn out fine. Surgery and medicine keeps
improving every day. Almost all of the people that I have read about or
communicated with were happy that they had their operation. Some had some
problems or pain, but in the end given the choice of having it or not having it
most would say they were glad they did it.
A suggestion that I would have for you is to be knowledgeable about the surgery,
but not too knowledgeable. Don't look at the gory videos and pictures of a
similar operation being performed (during your research). That's too scary and
may turn you off.
Is it worth it? Yes (assuming nothing really bad happens to you). For the rest
of your life, you will be able to move more freely, bend down, twist and turn
without extra skin swaying back and forth. Going out in public will no longer be
embarrassing experience. Your self confidence will shoot up through the roof.
Later, you may worry a little about the scars that remain, but that's a small
price to pay for the big benefits that you receive.
Note - Another side benefit from the operation is that in the future you may be
less likely to regain the weight back because you probably won't want to do this
all over again (it is a lot to go through).
Good luck.

I really appreciate your comments it means a lot too
hear from someone whose gone through it. I just had one favor to ask you but if

and his staff they made me feel confident.

Thanks again. Musa
RESPONSE - Musa
I took a look at his website.
THE GOOD
-He is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American
Board of Plastic Surgery.
-He specializes in tummy tucks.
-He has before and after pictures of his patients for you to view. (with at
least on man)
-He's older with many years of experience (not fresh out of school).
-As indicated on his Dr. Steve Byrd page, I don't think you could ask for more
history, experience, appointments or accreditations.
THE BAD
-Nothing that I could see.
If everything is true on his website (which I assume it is) he is the one that I would want to do mine again.
I can't see anything negative about him.
The only other thing that I could think to do is to search the internet for any
negative information about him and get a medical background report on him to
check for malpractice suits and lawsuits. Best regards.

Hi its me again
ha-ha sorry for keep on bothering you but I just had one last
question if that's cool with you. I was wondering what that
tube thing was by your lower stomach filled with blood, did
it hurt it seemed very bothering? and did you ever get abs
after your surgery I know I have some beneath this excess
ski but my doctor said you might not see them because your
skin is really thick due to being so big at one point. Musa
Response - Musa
No problem. Ask as much as you like.
That tube thing was a surgical drain.
It didn't hurt at all, just looked strange. Surgical Drains
are flexible plastic tubes that are inserted into the body
to drain pus, blood or other fluids from the surgical wound
area. I have a whole section about surgical drains that you
can read at
http://www.tummytuckformen.com/tummy-tuck-abdominoplasty-surgical-drains.html.
As far as abs go, I never did much
stomach exercises and was not concerned with them so I can't
tell what the possibilities are. I suspect you can get
defined abs if you work at it. I don't understand the
sentence about the skin being really thick. If you do a
Google images search for "tummy tuck men" you will see some
guys with abs that had tummy tucks. Best regards.

could give me your opinion on these 2 doctors I been
looking at....Im really sorry too bother you but I

Im planning on doing a tummy tuck as well as
gynecomastia I am not sure if you have herd of that
but its a male breast reduction.
Response - Musa,
I imagine any surgeon's website that I look at will
portray that surgeon in the best possible light and
not tell you any of the bad things about the surgeon
(if there are any). The website will provide facts
and information for you to determine if a
consultation is warranted. After checking him out,
it will be up to you to determine how you feel and
your level of confidence about the surgeon, his
staff and his facility. In the end it is all a
gamble.
I do notice that you seem to be checking out only
the top rated and best plastic surgeons. That's
good.
I can't recommend any specific surgeon, but I did
take a quick look a the sites and have the following
comments.
http://www.drhackney.net/
Impressive website. It would give me a warm feeling
to know that a doctor was named one of the best
plastic surgeons in Dallas for so many years.
http://www.drmichaelbogdan.com/
He doesn't seem to be as much in the media as Dr.
Hackney but he seems to have all the right
credentials and experience and would be worth a
consultation visit.
Did you ever go for a consultation with Dr. Steve
Byrd? If so, how did that go?
Best regards,
Tanner

Yes I went to a
consultation with Dr. Byrd. He seemed like a great
doctor but I do as well struggle with gynecomastia
(male breast reduction) and he had no picture to
show me which made me limit my option on him. It's
just crazy because there are so many doctors too
choose from but I do not know which one is right. I
will just have to do the best study and hope the
best of luck for it.
